The 60's and 70's are Back!

The local town of Falmouth, Cornwall was featured on 'The 70's' on BBC2 last night...so we thought what a great topic to add to the CAD Blog!

The 60's and 70's have always had a large impact on the design world and even today you will see a huge amount of retro architecture and vintage interiors inspired by these fascinating decades. The combination of cold concrete, wood panelling, hard edges, rounded corners, chrome, glass, bold colours, vivid patterns, shag pile rugs and eclectic wooden furniture sounds awful but all these things still feature very heavily in many modern day designs...like everything if you wait long enough it will eventually come back in to fashion!

Here is a mix of original designs from the 60's and 70's accompanied by some recent retro inspired designs and furniture. You may even spot a couple of our very own projects amongst the images!

The colour orange seemed to be very popular in the 1970's...
CAD really did pick a good corporate colour!
