Crazy Legs Crane

It's not everyday you see a 60 tonne crane on the picturesque peninsula of St. Mawes but this Macsalvors crane with its 46m arm had to be used to transport materials over Pink Cottage. The crane operator had to carefully maneuver the items one by one over the top of the cottage and safely place them in the rear garden.

Some of the items transported were 70 year old olive trees from Valencia! Once in the garden the olive trees were put in position via the crane and then some earth was pushed up around them. They looked fantastic, almost like they had always been there and they fitted in beautifully with the colour of the stone. There was even a spot of Mediterranean weather to make the trees feel at home.

It certainly caused a stir in St. Mawes as the trees flew overhead!
