CAD Architects : Pink Cottage In Pictures

Pink Cottage is now complete and we have created a photographic diary of the project from start to finish...

About the project

Major alteration and refurbishment of this listed thatched cottage in St. Mawes, Cornwall has been carried out. The two cottages were renovated to provide one larger dwelling with extensive garden landscaping work.

A 60 tonne crane with its 46m arm had to be used to transport materials over Pink Cottage to the rear garden. The crane operator had to carefully maneuver the items one by one over the top of the cottage and safely place them in the rear garden. Some of the items transported were 70 year old olive trees from Valencia! Once in the garden the olive trees were put in position via the crane and then some earth was pushed up around them. They looked fantastic, almost like they had always been there and they fitted in beautifully with the colour of the stone. There was even a spot of Mediterranean weather to make the trees feel at home.

It certainly caused a stir in St. Mawes as the trees flew overhead!
