CAD Architects: Ecobuild 2014

Over 100 industry experts, ministers and VIPs took centre stage as the acclaimed Ecobuild conference programme returned to ExCel, London last week; so Craig popped up to find out the latest news and ideas surrounding the future of design, construction and the built environment.

The full three day conference programme was hosted across two Ecobuild Arenas. There were many topics covered, relevant to the whole industry including developers, architects, contractors and house builders, but the Seminars Craig found the most useful were:

Trada: Timber Cladding Tips & Timber Frame Q & A
This explained key considerations on the use of timber products.
Water Waste and Materials: Adapt and reuse or demolish and rebuild?
This demonstrated considerations for the refurbishment/ life-cycle analysis of existing buildings.
The conference always aims to cover a wide range of issues ranging from energy policy and the future of our cities right down to the right way to deliver zero carbon homes and buildings that work as designed.

Craig found it a very useful experience and a chance to view new products and developments within the construction industry.
Here are a few photos from his visit!
