What do Civil Engineers do?

We would have trouble leading a normal life without Civil Engineers. From when we wake up in the morning to when we go to bed at night we are fully dependant on the work of Civil Engineers.

Let us explain…

You wake up in the morning; you jump in the shower, clean your teeth and grab a coffee. You then travel to work, park your car or arrive at the train/bus station and may even grab another coffee. You may then have to walk over a bridge or through an underpass to get to your place of work. Once at work you may then have another coffee.

This series of events would be impossible without Civil Engineers.

Civil Engineers design and build roads, railways, tunnels, bridges and also large buildings and tall structures including multi story car parks and train stations. They are also responsible for our constant supply of clean water and sustainable energy. The world would be a very different place without Civil Engineers!

The amazing ways that Civil Engineers overcome challenges to create and maintain our infrastructure is illustrated in The Little Book of Civilisation.
