CAD Architects: The Big Office Move

Well it has been almost 2 months since ‘The Big Office Move’ to Truro and it already feels like home!

All the building work is complete and we have everything in place, the pictures are up and our new logo blinds and signage are being printed as we speak!

After 12 happy years at St Mary’s House in Penryn, Mark decided to bite the bullet and move the practice back to the 'commercial capital' – the city of Truro. We are now located amongst the beautiful architecture of Lemon Street and our offices were built in the 1960's, in an elegant Georgian style, on the original site at 74-75 Lemon Street.

We are now all working together on one floor, as opposed to three, which is proving to be a great working environment; we will however have to cut back on the birthday cakes now there is less exercise involved!

At the beginning it all seemed a very tall order as we would have to move and compact three floors in to one but with a bit of clearing out and a lot of tidying away we have managed it! It took a lot of man hours and a huge amount of crates and boxes but everything is in and the team has settled in well.

The studio is open plan and the large Georgian sash windows make it a lovely bright working space. It is also a very warm building, which is great news for the team, as the winter months are almost upon us.
