A grand opening party at the Carnon Downs Village Hall has just been held to celebrate the completion of a major project of renovation, alteration and extension. The Hall was full all day long and the whole community enjoyed the official opening ceremony and cake cutting, a fashion show, musical events including the Truro Male voice choir and a photo display.
CAD were appointed as Architects to the Village Hall in 2010 and since that time have successfully overseen all aspects of the project, including obtaining Planning Permission, inviting tenders for the building work and administering the building contract. We have, most importantly, obtained a £450k grant from the Big Lottery (Communities Fund) and without this the works would not have been able to proceed.
Carnon Downs now has a modern community space comprising 2 halls, a meeting room and a completely new entrance concourse, kitchen and toilets. It is equipped throughout to a high standard, with modern facilities and connectivity, and is fully accessible throughout.
CAD Architects are extremely proud of their leading role in bringing about this major transformation.
